POOL/ POOL HOUSE
Thornhill Pool
The Thornhill pool is a hub of activity in summer! The pool typically opens the weekend before Memorial Day and closes the weekend after Labor Day. In the early months of the season, the pool is fully guarded. In late summer through the end of the season, the pool transitions to attendant-only with no lifeguards. For specific information on the pool schedule, please see the Community Calendar.
Pool Sign-In and Guest Fees
There is a table at the front gate to sign in when visiting the pool. Here you can also make payment for guests. Thornhill residents may bring up to 4 out-of-town guests to the pool without charge. Guests from within Mecklenburg County are asked to pay a $5/person/day guest fee.
Access to the pool is by key fob, and pool gates must remain locked at all times. When visiting the pool, please be sure someone in your group has a key fob with them. Food is not allowed anywhere within the pool enclosure, and can be enjoyed upstairs in the picnic pavilion. Please see pp. 2-5 of the Recreation Facility Regulations for more information about using and enjoying the pool.

Morning Early Swim
After Memorial Day, proficient swimmers may request fob access to the pool enclosure to swim morning laps, or participate in other early swim activities (before the pool opens to the community and there are no lifeguards on duty). To request access, please complete the required annual Waiver of Liability which prompts the management and security companies to adjust your key fob access hours. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the pool enclosure during morning early swim.
